Freezing UK

UK weather: Britain to be gripped by freezing air as temperatures set to drop as low as minus 19C

Britain is set to face severe wind chill as temperatures could drop as low as minus 17C when bitter air from Scandinavia grips the country.
Temperatures over the weekend are forecast to plunge up to 5C below average in parts, with overnight values to drop to -4C in the North West and -2C in England and Wales on Saturday.
Meanwhile, thermometers could plummet to -13C in the Highlands of Scotland.
It will also be a frosty start on Monday morning for the early school run with temperatures hovering around or below 0C widely.
But it will feel much colder than this in the brisk north-easterly wind with wind chill values nose-diving as low as -17C in parts of Scotland-
