UK weather: Britain to be gripped by freezing air as temperatures set to drop as low as minus 19C Britain is set to face severe wind chill as temperatures could drop as low as minus 17C when bitter air from Scandinavia grips the country. Temperatures over the weekend are forecast to plunge up to 5C below average in parts, with overnight values to drop to -4C in the North West and -2C in England and Wales on Saturday.
